Portraits with Cell Phone, 2005-2010
In our increasingly transitory world Cell phones are becoming the one fixed piece of peoples identity. In traditional portraiture, the photographer seeks to try and capture a quality of the person through the use of light and posing that enhances the viewers' perceptions of the essence of that person. In these images I hoped to capture the subject in that distracted state where the body is in one place and the brain is somewhere else, focused on trivial or important matters in the drama of the everyday moment.
